Visit to Parliament House, Canberra (24 March 2011)
On 24 March 2011, six members of Climate Scientists Australia visited Parliament House in Canberra to meet with politicians and given them a chance to discuss the scientific facts behind climate change any other aspect of climate science that interests them with climate scientists. This is the group's third such visit to Parliament House in Canberra.
The group met with MPs and senators during the morning, including with Prime Minister Julia Gillard. They then gave a briefing, which was co-hosted by Anna Burke MP, Member for Chisholm, Dr Mal Washer MP, Member for Moore, and Adam Bandt MP, Member for Melbourne, that covered the basics of climate change and its implication for human health, as well as the current scientific understanding of the causes of the flooding in Australia in 2010/11.
